The Gisborne Wine & Food Festival is Gisborne’s iconic Labour Weekend tradition - a big ol' celebration of everything this region does best: exceptional wine, delicious food vendors, an array of live music on stages, and great company! Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting for the long weekend, this is your invitation to unwind and enjoy it all among the gorgeous golden slopes of Gizzy!
On Sunday 26 October, explore two of the region’s most loved (and award winning) wineries, Matawhero Wines and TW Wines - each offering their own flavour of the region’s wine, culture, and atmosphere.

This year’s Gisborne Wine & Food Festival is all about celebrating legacy and flavour, with Matawhero Wines marking 50 years of winemaking. Expect a laid-back day of live music, vineyard vibes, and tastings across two of Gisborne’s most iconic wineries - Matawhero and TW Wines. With winemaker masterclasses, curated food and wine offerings, and seamless transport between venues, it’s a day designed for slow sips and good company.
