Church Road Winery Concerts

HAWKE’S BAY

Church Road Winery isn’t just about award-winning wine (although we all know how good the Chardonnay is there), it’s home to one of Hawke’s Bay’s most iconic summer dance floors. Rolling lawns, hillside vines, picnic blankets that multiply like magic, and sunsets that always seem to arrive at that perfect moment when the main act takes the stage. Honestly, it feels like this lawn was made for concerts.

Over the years, world-class acts have taken the stage here, turning this leafy corner of Taradale, Napier into a bucket-list stop for live music fans. For the past eight years, we’ve teamed up with the Church Road crew to help flip this picturesque patch of green into a music-lovers playground - welcoming legends on stage, locals and folks from afar on the lawn, and countless nights of live music under the stars.

A SUMMERS DAY LIVE 2022.

29 DECEMBER 2022

The second edition of A Summer’s Day Live to be held on the Church Road Winery lawn - with reggae rhythms and rock classics. UB40 headlined the night, joined by Jefferson Starship and Dragon for a lineup that had the crowd on their feet. Promoted by Trademark Live, the evening closed out with UB40’s heartfelt rendition of Can’t Help Falling in Love. We delivered full event and site management for the promoter, along with bar operations on behalf of the venue.

JACK JOHNSON.

11 DECEMBER 2022

Jack Johnson’s Meet the Moonlight tour lit up Church Road, with the legendary Black Seeds warming up the crowd. Promoted by Live Nation, the day was chill - music flowing and we even managed to dodge the rain until the very end. Sustainability was front of mind for Jack’s team throughout the planning process - a real inspiration for those of us in live events who see the amount of waste generated. We handled bar operations for the venue and liaised with the promoter team on all venue requirements, keeping everything smooth behind the scenes.

GROOVE ARMADA.

25 NOVEMBER 2022

Groove Armada turned Church Road into a dance floor, with beats that had everyone moving long after the sun went down. Promoted by Endeavour Live, the vibe was pure party, sending veteran ravers straight back to their heyday on the dance floor.

We ran bar and food operations for the venue and liaised with the promoter team on venue related things, making sure the night stayed smooth from first track to last.

CROWDED HOUSE.

27 & 28 MARCH 2021

Crowded House brought their To the Island tour to Church Road for two back-to-back nights, with The Beths opening each show. Promoted by Live Nation, the atmosphere celebrated iconic New Zealand music, with familiar tunes seeing the crowd sing along. Originally postponed due to COVID, the events finally went ahead on the lawn as we all crossed our fingers to dodge the lockdowns. We managed bar operations for the venue and liaised with the promoter team on all venue requirements.

BEN HARPER.

28 FEBRUARY 2020

Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals brought their soulful sound to Church Road, with special guest Matt Corby kicking off a spectacular double-header. Promoted by Neptune Entertainment, the audience soaked up both sets, taking in the music from afternoon to sunset. Backstage, the team were working to source N95 masks for the band - a small but memorable moment as the reality of impending lockdowns loomed only a few weeks later. We delivered full event and site management on behalf of the promoter.

ANGUS & JULIA STONE.

26 OCTOBER 2019

Promoted by Endeavour Live - Angus & Julia Stone graced the Church Road stage with a stunning set, their harmonies filling the lawn for the audience to soak up. The show happened to coincide with the Rugby World Cup final, so we wrapped up just in time for punters to get to their big screens and for us to catch the action on a tiny i-Phone screen backstage. We took care of full event and site management for the promoter and kept the bar running smoothly for the venue.

FAT BOY SLIM.

26 JANUARY 2019

Fatboy Slim brought the house down at Church Road - hands down the most electric show we’ve worked. From stage to crowd, the energy was contagious, with old-school ravers and the younger party goers dancing the night away. Promoted by Endeavour Live, we handled full site and event management for the promoter, while keeping the bars flowing for the venue.

UB40.

25 JANUARY 2019

UB40’s 40th Anniversary Tour brought those classic Red Red Wine vibes to Church Road, with a lively crowd soaking up every tune. Promoted by Neptune Entertainment, it was a memorable night for all. We oversaw venue operations and bar services, ensuring the evening ran smoothly from start to finish.

Fans sang along to favourites like Africa, soaking up a sunny afternoon of music as the sun set behind the hill. We worked alongside the promoter and the venue to deliver the event from start to finish.

STICKY FINGERS.

5 JANUARY 2019

Sticky Fingers brought their signature blend of rock, reggae, and indie vibes to Church Road, supported by Katchafire, Summer Thieves, and The Butlers. The bands delivered standout sets, keeping the crowd engaged from start to finish. We worked closely with the promoter and venue to ensure smooth event delivery, handling logistics and operations behind the scenes.

JOHN BUTLER TRIO.

30 MARCH 2018

John Butler Trio lit up Church Road with support from L.A.B, Alae, and Sarah Wiig. This was the first show we had the privilege of event managing at this iconic venue.
